The five-year deal will see Lovell provide a reactive repairs service and deliver planned maintenance programmes for GCH, which manages Gloucester City Council’s 5,000 homes.
Under the contract, Lovell will also continue to carry out GCH’s Decent Homes programme, including the installation of new kitchens, bathrooms and central heating systems, electrical and rewiring work, and other improvements.
The company will also carry out adaptations for disabled residents and refurbish void properties.
The contract, which starts in April 2010, is a significant win for Lovell, marking the continuing expansion of the business. Awarded through a tendering process, the new contract follows the successful working partnership which developed between GCH and Lovell since 2007 when work first commenced on GCH’s Decent Homes programme.
Lovell will be GCH’s main partner on the maintenance, repair and refurbishment of the housing stock it manages on behalf of Gloucester City Council.
